"Qariah" is a term that refers to a woman Quran reciter. While it is well-known in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria, and Yemen, it is not widely recognized in many Muslim communities in the West. To address this, the Qariah app aims to familiarize and popularize the term among women and provide easy access to recitations by Qariahs. The goal is to be able to answer little girls when they ask why there are no women Quran reciters with a resounding response: "There are countless women Quran reciters, and with dedication, anyone can become one!"

• Global: The app features over 60 women from various cultures around the world, including Tanzania, Indonesia, Australia, Spain, Morocco, Somalia, Canada, Pakistan, Algeria, Guinea, the Philippines, The Gambia, Singapore, Palestine, Nigeria, Malaysia, the United States, Egypt, Yemen, Mauritania, and more.
• Qualified: Each Qariah showcased in the app has memorized the Quran or holds an ijaza (license to teach), or is a national or international winner of Quran competitions. They are also qualified Quran teachers. The app not only highlights women's scholarship with the Quran but also aims to inspire women globally to pursue a deeper understanding of the Quran through memorization and contemplative recitation.
• Expansive: The app allows users to listen to the Quran in multiple qira'at (methods of recitation) including Hafs 'an 'Asim, Shu'bah 'an 'Aasim, Warsh 'an Nafi, Al-Doori 'an Abi 'Amr, Khalaf 'an Hamza, Qaloon 'an Nafi, and Qaloon Biqasr Almunfasil wa Iskaan Meem AlJam.
